  1. Snooker is an indoor game derived from 
  2. billiards (via pool). It is played with 22 
  3. balls: 15 red, one each of yellow, green, 
  4. brown, blue, pink, and black, and one white 
  5. cueball. Red balls are worth one point when 
  6. sunk, while the coloured balls have ascending 
  7. values from two points for the yellow to 
  8. seven points for the black. The world 
  9. professional championship was first held in 
  10. 1927.
